The Team here at Affordable Marine Service for all intents and purposes consider ourselves to be a ‘one stop shop’. Meaning that if it has anything at all to do with boats, boaters and boating, we’ve got you covered.
One example of our diversity is in our ability to help you sell your boat. There comes a time in every boaters life when selling their boat is a high priority on the “To Do” list. Most of the time it’s because you’ve outgrown your present boat. Whether it’s in size, usability, fishability, any number of reasons, it can be time to pass the fun on to another owner and go in search of your newest dream boat.
And this is another spot where the AMS Team shines bright. Being avid boaters ourselves, we all know that selling your boat (or buying a boat for that matter) can be a chore. An unwanted task that unfortunately must be tackled if we want to move on to bigger and better things.
Sure, selling your boat sounds easy but if you’ve ever attempted to sell a boat yourself, you’re fully aware it’s anything but. From all the costs involved in advertising your boat to responding to all the various calls and emails. Most of which are from time wasting lowball tire kickers that have absolutely no respect for your time as well as all the effort it takes to keep your boat “Show Ready” for an inspection by a potential buyer.
Meaning you want it uncovered, ready to look its best as well as run its best. And you need this to happen at all hours of the day because that’s how random a potential buyer can be. When you combine that with the time constraints of a full time job and the shorter days of winter, just scheduling a viewing can be a job in and of itself.
And who hasn’t received that last second phone call from a prospective buyer that has to see the boat. And has to see it NOW! So as you rush on down to the storage facility, the Marina, wherever you may store your boat, hoping everything will be just as you left it last visit, you begin to think about all that lays ahead.
First you have to uncover it, then hose off the dusty spots, wipe it down a bit and then most important of all, hope it starts. Yes, we’ve all experienced the letdown of dead batteries at the worst possible time.
So as all of this is going through your mind you finally arrive at your boat, albeit a little late. Scrambling to get everything ready for the “hopefully” new owner to see, time continues to tick by.
And next thing you know, you’re waiting for the prospective buyer to arrive. The guy that HAD to see it today. And knowing you left work early to accomplish all this isn’t making this sick feeling in your stomach feel any better.
Still waiting, might as well call the buyer to check his progress. And of course, you reach his voicemail. No biggie, he’s probably driving and doesn’t want to get a ticket for being on the phone. But as the time continues ticking by and the sun sets on the horizon, it becomes all too obvious. Yep, another No Show! Beyond frustrating to say the least.
And just like all the previous times you told yourself you’d never again go through the hassle and stress of selling a boat on your own, here you are once again. If boating is supposed to be anything its should be fun. And experiences like these are anything but fun.
That’s why the AMS Team offers their “Show ‘N’ Sell” Service. We want to take the stress and strain out of selling your boat. From advertising your boat through numerous online venues to communicating with potential buyers. Setting appointments for visual inspections. Even bay tests (with an adequate deposit), all while keeping your boat looking and running it’s best at all times.
We even have an option which allows you to store your boat at our centrally located San Diego facility to make the buying experience even that much more pleasant for all involved.
With Technicians available on site to discuss any questions your potential buyers might have. As well as the ability to run the boat for them right there, it’s definitely a win/win for all involved.
As a seller your options are pretty much endless and can be tailored to best suit your needs. Best of all, the choice is yours. We’ll be more than happy to look over your boat and make recommendations as to what repairs would enhance and help the sales process and which items might be best left for the new owner as the rate of return on the repair wouldn’t be worth it. As well as having little to no effect on the possibility of a successful sale.
So if you’re thinking it just might be time to sell your boat, why not give the Team here at Affordable Marine Service a call today @ 619.578.5979 and let’s discuss how best to go about making your next move up in the boating world.
